Harry Oscar "Ozzie" Jones, 67, of Plum Run, Mannington, WV died July 30, 2006 at Fairmont General Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 19, 1939 in Mannington, the son of the late David Arlington Jones and the late Eleanor Kennedy Jones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Meicke Jones.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jean Jones Dawson and Donald Dawson of Plum Run, Mannington and his brother and sister-in-law, Joesph and Mitzi Dawson of Lexington, NC.

Additionally, he is survived by three nieces, one nephew, four grand-nieces, two grand nephews, four great-grand nieces, three great grand-nephews, and a number of beloved family members and friends, including a special companion "Russell." Harry had a generous spirit, and considered many to be among his family.

Harry graduated from Farmington High School in 1958 and worked in a number of corporate positions at Deluxe Check Printers for over thirty years. He served his country in the U. S. Army Reserves.

Harry was an avid outdoorsman and belonged to an assortment of sporting clubs. Most notably, he recently shot in the World Open and was the founder of the NRA sanctioned Fairview Whiners 1000 Yard Shooting Range. He received a number of accolades, including: New York State Champion, Senior Bowhunter Freestyle Archer (1995-1996); National Field Archery Association State Champion; New Jersey/State Field Archery Association Indoor State Champion, Bow Archery (1980); and Double-C-Class Shotgun Champion (1970).

Harry was a Christian by faith and was baptized in the Church of Christ.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 1-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 AM Thursday. Burial will follow in the Ammons Family Cemetery near Fairview.

Pallbearers will include: Tom Alworth, Mark Carl, David Chappell, Troy Hendershot, Roger Hornick, Bill Ice, David Lantz, and Joe Toothman.
