Hazel Freeland, 93, of Fairmont, formerly of Burton, WV died Thursday, October 19, 2006 in Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born June 9, 1913 at Oak Forest near Hundred, a daughter of the late Bert Bartrug and Ella Camp Bartrug.
Mrs. Freeland was a homemaker and a member of the Harmony Baptist Church of Burton. Her hobbies included quilting and sewing.
Surviving are one daughter, Doris June Mahaffey of Fairmont; one son, Gail Freeland of Wana; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Freeland, whom she married on December 24, 1932, and who died on February 21, 1978; one son, Gary Freeland; one daughter, Arlene Carol Freeland who died as an infant; five brothers, Paul Bartrug, Okel Bartrug, Ralph Bartrug, Orvis Bartrug, and Herbert Bartrug; and five sisters, Artie Core, Olive Bartholow, Lucille Bartrug, Evelyn Bartrug, and Lillian Bartrug.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Saturday with the Pastor Linda Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Cunningham Memorial Gardens in Burton, WV.
