Helen Y. Snyder, 98, of Montvale, VA, formerly of Hundred, died Sunday, September 27, 2009 in the Woodhaven Nursing Home in Montvale, VA.
Mrs. Snyder was born November 23, 1910 at Littleton, WV, a daughter of the late Virgil Moyer and Elizabeth Owen Moyer Shriver.
She was a member of the Hundred United Methodist Church. Helen was a retired school teacher in the Wetzel County School System for many years. She was a member of the Augusta Chapter #6 Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Grand Matron and many other capacities.
Surviving are one son and his wife, Stephen and Doris Snyder of Blue Ridge, VA; grandsons, Stephen Mark and his wife Wendy, Ronnie and his wife Terri, and David Snyder; Great-Grandson, Cole Morgan Snyder, Great-Granddaughters, Kara and Sarah Snyder; and one brother, Tom Shriver of Moundsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred (Heinie) Snyder and a brother William (Bill) Moyer.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Charlene Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Gardens in Burton.
