Henrietta Thomas, 72, of Hundred, WV died Saturday, January 14, 2006, at her home after a short illness. She was born July 10, 1933 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Youmans, her mother, Ressie Youmans Metcalf, and a sister, Clara Groves.
Surviving are her husband William Thomas; two sons, Scott McHenry of Hundred and Rick McHenry of Canton, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Karen) Teets of Horseshoe Run, WV, Mrs. Michael (Abi) Arnold of Canby, Oregon, and Ms Lisa McHenry of Parkersburg, WV; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and spouses, Larry Youmans and his wife, Sandy, of Fairborn, Ohio and Kenneth Youmans of Weston, WV; three sisters and spouses, Mrs. Charles ( Geraldine) Koenig, of Tucson, Arizona, Marlene Rigney of Grandview, WV and Mrs. Sidney (Janetta) McClure of Grandview, WV.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Hundred Church of Christ and a teacher in various West Virginia counties before retiring from the Wetzel County School system in 1994. She was a proud member of Hundred PRIDE, a local civic organization, and served on the Town of Hundred council from 2001 to the present.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at the Locust Knob Cemetery near Glenville, Gilmer County.
