James F. Johnson, Sr, 71 of Miracle Run Road, Fairview, WV died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at his residence of injuries sustained in a riding mower accident.
He was born May 4, 1936 at Osage, WV a son of the late George W. Johnson Sr and Pearl E. Jones Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a retired coal miner and he attended the MacDale Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Surviving are one son, James F. Johnson, Jr. of Miracle Run; his companion, Jenny "Jenny B" Conner; four brothers, George Johnson of Mooresville, Jack Johnson of Mooresville, Melvin Johnson of Kingwood Pike, and John Johnson of Alexandria, VA; and four sisters, Jean Kennedy of Wana, Ruth Johnson of Fairview, Betty Gantt of Baxter, Tenn, and Rose Caltrider of Parkersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two brothers, Bob Johnson and Denzil Ray Johnson, and his wife, Mary Jo Joyce Johnson.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Saturday with the Rev. Samuel K. Hibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
