James I. Waychoff, Sr, 81, of Core, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 4, 2012 at his residence.
He was born August 8, 1930 at Waynesburg, PA, a son of the late Charles R. Waychoff, Sr. and Pearl V. Watters Waychoff.
Mr. Waychoff was a retired truck driver and retired from the teamsters after 30 years of service. He also worked as an electrician and with the civil service police.
He was a member of the Lions Club, Clay-Battelle Senior Citizens, and the Mason-Dixon Historical Park.
James was a member of the Mt. Morris Assembly of God.
The two hobbies that he loved were hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth A. Headley Waychoff; three sons, James I. Waychoff, Jr. of Fort Collins, CO, Randy Waychoff of Austintown, OH, and Brian E. Waychoff of Prosperity, PA; two daughters, Cindy Flick of Austintown, OH and Jodie Bane of Core; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Emily Phillips, both of Waynesburg, PA; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Roger L. Waychoff and Kevin R. Waychoff; three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with Pastor Fred Tomlinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview-Kiger Cemetery.
