James T. Carmichael, 85, of Wadestown, WV died Monday, June 26, 2006 in the MonPointe Continuous Care Center in Morgantown.
He was born October 1, 1920 at Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late John and Alma Carmichael.
Mr. Carmichael was a retired employee of the United States Postal Service. He worked as a letter carrier from 1960 to 1985. He was a member of the Corinthian Lodge #573 AF & AM of Millvale, PA and was awarded his 50 year pin in 2002.
He was a United States Marine veteran who attained the rank of Sergeant. He served during World War II. Surviving are one son, Fred Carmichael of Pittsburgh, PA; one daughter, Janeann Carmichael of Wadestown; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Carmichael on June 30, 1990.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Eakin-Wana Cemetery, Wana, WV.
The Westover VFW will perform full military honors at graveside. The Littleton Lodge #131 AF & AM will conduct masonic graveside rites.
