Jean M. Spitznogle, 76, of Blacksville, WV died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born September 21, 1930 at Brier Hill, PA, a daughter of the late Milli Livio Molla and Carmella Marie Spossey Molla.
Jean was the co-owner and operator of Spitznogle Meat Processing in Blacksville for 37 years. She worked hand and hand with her husband, Glenn. She helped with the meat wrapping as well as taking care of the books.
She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, class of 1948, in Washington, PA and she was a member of the St Ann Catholic Church in Waynesburg, PA.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Glenn L. Spitznogle; two sons & spouses, Glenn L. Spitznogle Jr and his wife Marlene of Cameron and Louis Spitznogle and his wife Mary of Pentess; one daughter & spouse, Donna Statler and her husband Harold "Gene" of Morgantown; four brothers, William Molla of Morgantown, John Molla of Canton, Ohio, Louis Molla of Grosse Ile, Michigan, Livio Molla, Jr. of Claysville, PA; three sisters, Julia Archual and Adelia Molla, both of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Elvira Falvo of Parma, Ohio; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Paradise and two brothers who died as infants.
Friends will be received at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with Rev. Walt Sobon officiating. Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
