Jesse “Buddy” Moore was gently called home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife of 65 years, Judith, and their three daughters. Born and raised in Fairmont, West Virginia, Jesse carried with him the values of faith, family, and quiet strength throughout his life.

He is lovingly remembered by Judith; his daughters, Deanna Graham, Tracey (Bernard) Tanski, and Susan (Matthew) Lennon; and his beloved grandchildren, Caitlin Graham, Connor Graham, and Lucas Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry "Sonny" Jordan, and his sister, Alverta Moore.

Jesse was a steady and faithful presence in the lives of those he loved—a devoted husband, a caring father, and a proud grandfather. He found joy in the simple things: listening to old country music, sharing stories from his life—often more than once—with a smile that made everyone listen all over again, a voracious reader, he was always eager to share his knowledge of aircraft, history and politics, especially WWII. In his retirement, he and Judith enjoyed traveling to the sites of many of the historic events he had studied. His sense of humor (no one told a "dad" joke better), and the soft twinkle in his eyes spoke volumes, offering comfort, reassurance, or a gentle laugh when it was needed most.  His family will forever hold close the warmth of his kindness, the sound of his laughter, and the unconditional love he gave so freely.

Jesse also found great meaning in his work with the local Penn’s Men group, where he took pride in serving the Penn Township community. He deeply cherished the friendships formed through this work, valuing the fellowship, shared purpose, and camaraderie they brought into his life.

Though their hearts are heavy, they find peace in knowing he is now at rest in heaven, reunited with the four precious children he and Judith never had the chance to hold.

A lifetime member of Fellowship Baptist Church (formerly Allegheny Baptist Temple), Jesse’s faith was the foundation of his life and shaped the compassion and care he showed to everyone around him.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation.

Interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in the spring, as well as a celebration of his life.  Details will be forthcoming.
