Jewel “Babe” Tuttle, 77, of Macdale, WV passed away June 26, 2015 peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of family and friends. She had struggled this last year with heartbreak after losing her husband, Fred Tuttle, of 58 years.
She was born June 14, 1938 a daughter of the late Dale Dulaney, Sr. and Faith Wise.
She was a wonderful and devoted mom, grandmother, friend, and teacher. She loved her grandsons, golfing, bingo, ceramics, sewing, and being around family.
She was a member of the Clay-Battelle Senior Citizens, Dunkard Valley Golf Course, and Miracle Run Methodist Church.
Mrs. Tuttle leaves behind many hearts and lives whom she had influenced and touched throughout the years while working as a teacher’s aid. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends including, one daughter and son-in-law Theresa and Greg Swisher; one son Richard “Rick” Tuttle; one brother Harley; three sisters Evie, Myrna, and Leota; three grandchildren Travis Dillon Swisher and Chance William Swisher and Heath (Lesley) Skinner; one great-grandchild Thomas Skinner; cousins Ray Long and Bonnie Chambers; sisters-in-law Mona Joy Copeland and Rita Mae Brummage; and brothers-in-law Allen Wilkinson and Ralph Husk, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Tuttle was preceded in death by one son Fredie Carl Tuttle, Jr.; one brother Dale Dulaney, Jr., and one sister Curly Dulaney.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Nancy Wise and also thank Glenda Sweeney and Brenda Hamilton for all their love and devotion.
Friends and family will be received at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV on Monday June 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Burial will follow at the Park Cemetery, Miracle Run.
