Joseph Samuel Tennant, 68, of Wadestown, WV died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his residence.
He was born February 19, 1949 at Miracle Run, a son of the late Lawrence Richard Tennant and Orpha Mabel Cross Tennant. He was also preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.
Mr. Tennant was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His love, support, and beautiful personality will be missed, he was truly one of a kind.
He was retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America, District 31 in Fairmont. He was also a United States Army veteran who served two tours during the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne Division as an Artillery Recon Sergeant.He received a Bronze Star during his Vietnam service.
In his younger years he attended the Highland Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila Jane Tennant; son Eric Samuel Tennant and wife Shelly; daughter Angela Jane Woodburn and her husband William; daughter Charla Jo Tennant; and one sister, Doris Mae Simpson. His grandchildren included, Samuel & Goldie Tennant, Liam & Silas Woodburn, and Joseph & Alice Bryant.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred with the Pastor Larry Harker officiating.
