KAREN LEMLEY HAUGHT

Karen Lemley Haught, 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in the Sundale Nursing Facility, Morgantown, WV.  She was born at home on Miracle Run on July 27, 1939, the only daughter of the late Ray and Gayle (Clovis) Lemley.  On July 26, 1957, Karen married the love of her life, Jim Haught, and they spent 68 years together.  Over the years they called MacDale, Miracle Run, and Crossroads home, seldom straying from their WV roots.  Karen was protestant by faith.

As one friend said, “Nobody loved life more than Karen Haught.”  Her past accomplishments included having her own beauty shop in MacDale, rising to the level of director for Mary Kay Cosmetics, being a territory ambassador for a travel agency, attending massage therapy school, and working as the local funeral home as receptionist.  Her interests were traveling---she loved spending winters in Florida, watching WVU sports, and being with friends and family.  Even with her busy schedule, she could always be counted on to lend a helping hand whatever the reason.

Karen is survived by her husband, Jim of Crossroads; and their son Bruce (Karen Woods Haught) of Miracle Run.  Also surviving is a large extended family of the in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Jack Lemley.

Special appreciation is given to J. D. Ammons, Linda Walker, Penny Cross, Deb Toothman, and Mary Burke for their help over the years.  The family would also like to acknowledge close friends including Kay and Marshall Ellison, the Kyle Family, Mary Alice Rush, and many others, although remembered, too numerous to mention.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 11:00 with the Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating.  Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
