Leonard C. Postlewait, 83, of Fairmont, WV died Friday, August 29, 2008 in the Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown.

He was born September 7, 1924 at Littleton, WV a son of the late Albert Postlewait and Rosie Villers Postlewait.

Leonard retired from Anthony Chevrolet in Fairmont. He had previously worked for Pitrolo Pontiac, Cadillac, GMC.

Mr. Postlewait served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #629 in Fairmont.

He attended the Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma Tuttle Postlewait; one son, Eric Postlewait of Fairmont; two daughters & spouses, Brenda and Dave Patterson of Burton and Earlene and George Hostutler of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Madeline Robinson of Littleton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa and Steve White; Butch and Sherry Patterson, Keith Hostutler, and Michael Postlewait; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Postlewait, Thomas Postlewait, Armand Postlewait; and four sisters, Marie Longwell, Irene Byard, Virchie Booth, and Mary Postlewait.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Knob Fork.
