LEONARD D. WILSON
Leonard Darrell Wilson, 82, of Daybrook, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Leonard, or as he was affectionately known to family and friends as “Catfish” or “Cattie”, was born in Daybrook, WV on October 24, 1936 to the late Estle Everett Wilson and Ocie Mae Toothman Wilson.
Cattie was an employee of Owens Illinois, and in addition to other jobs, enjoyed spending time farming. He was a member of the Daybrook Church of Christ and also a long time member of the Mannington Masonic Lodge #31, AF & AM. Although various health issues prevented him from doing certain things later in life, he always enjoyed visiting with friends, or just “going for a drive.” Perhaps his greatest enjoyment and sense of pride came from his four grandchildren. He rarely missed an opportunity to boastfully share a story of what each of them were doing.
Cattie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Caroline “Kay” Moore Wilson; three sons, Chris, Buckey (Krishna), and Bart Wilson; four grandchildren, Jack, McKenna, Madison and Cooper Wilson; one brother, Dean Wilson; and niece, Cindy Lou Donaldson.
In addition to his parents, Cattie was preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Lou Moore.
A memorial service will be held at the Daybrook Church of Christ on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Evangelist Steve Snider officiating.
The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV is in charge of arrangements.

I just wish to express my condolences to the Wilson family. I once lived on Honey Run and taught at Clay Battelle School but I now live back in New Albany, IN since my wife died in WV. I am sure that some of the family will remember me...
