Linda Genevieve Cordray, 72, of Core, WV died Friday, August 7, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Morgantown on May 1, 1943, the daughter of the late Edwin Tichenor and Genevieve Stewart Tichenor.
Mrs. Cordray graduated from Morgantown High School in 1961 and retired from West Virginia University Hospital as an EKG Tech.
She raised four kids that never went hungry. She was able to make a meal out of next to nothing. She made amazing homemade bread. Her kids came first. She was a generous loving mother and friend that will be sadly missed. She enjoyed reading and watching her talk shows and game shows.
Surviving are two sons and spouses, Bernard and Stephine Cordray and Wayne Cordray, all of Core; two daughters, Debbie and Bart Spearen of Morgantown and Linda (Linnie) Francis and Kevin Miller of Morgantown; seven grandchildren and spouses, Ryan, Derek and Emily Cordray of Core and Devin and Holly Cordray of Charleston; Breanna and John Leadbeater of Morgantown, and Kristen and Jacob Spearen of Morgantown; and four great-grandchildren, Gweneth and Abigayle Cordray, Taryn Thompson of Charleston, and Alex Flanders of Morgantown; three sisters and spouses, Gloria and Larry Sickles, Brenda and Bill Allen, all of Morgantown and Pat Ewing of North Ridgeville, OH; and two brothers and spouses, Rick and Mary Tichenor and Bud and Linda Tichenor all of Morgantown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ricky Francis.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville from 7-9 PM Sunday and from 11:00 AM to the 1:00 PM service hour on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
