Lloyd F. Lantz, 91, of Miracle Run Community, Fairview, WV died Monday, February 20, 2017 at his residence.
He was born November 26, 1925 at Blacksville, a son of the late George W. Lantz, Sr. and Myrtle Mae Henderson Lantz.
Mr. Lantz was a retired coal miner with many years of service. He also owned and operated Dunkard Valley Golf Course for many years.
He was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred, the Westover VFW Post 9916, and the Daybrook Church of Christ.
Lloyd was a United States Navy Veteran who served during World War II.
Surviving are one son & spouse, Randy & Dortha Lantz of Morgantown; one daughter, Dianna Minor of Core; five grandchildren, Tammy Chisler, Tabb Minor, Michele Hockenberry, Shawn Lantz, and Brian Lantz; five great-grandchildren, Michael & Kyle Chisler, Jordan & Jarret Hockenberry, and Aiden Lantz, and one great-great-grandson, Hunter Chisler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Lantz who died on December 6, 2013; two brothers, Robert Lantz and George Lantz, Jr., and three sisters, Norma Savage, Bernice Cole, and Ruth Sine.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM Thursday with Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
