Marion Livingston White, Jr., commonly known as Buck, passed away to his heavenly home on September 7th after more than a two year battle with cancer. He was 84 and is survived by his only child, Marsha (Stephen) Byers; a sister, Mary Lou Leckey; a brother, David C. White; two grandchildren, Lisa Byers Ozzello and Jennifer Lynn Saunders; one great-grandchild, Hunter Stephen Ozzello; and his former spouse of 33 years, Mary Louise (Phillips) White.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Marion L. White and Mabel Cummins White.

There were many important people in Buck’s life and the family would like to recognize them; Nancy Beabout-a very special friend and caregiver, Betty Hurd, and Joanne White.

Buck was born April 1, 1931. He graduated from Clay-Battelle High School in Blacksville, WV, attended Fairmont Business College, and served two years in the United States Army. Buck was deployed to Korea and was there when his daughter was born.

Patriotism and service were very important to Buck. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a fifty plus year member of the masonic lodge, a member of the American Legion, a member of the Moose Lodge #461, an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and attended the 1st Methodist Church in Waynesburg.

Even during his illness, he had a friend drive him to the courthouse where he would salute the flag. Buck was a gifted woodworker and enjoyed showing pictures of his work.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM onSaturday, September 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM with Pastor Gary Grau officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery whereby he will be honored with a military honor guard.
