Mary Eleanor Moore, 86, of Bula, died Monday, February 27, 2017 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born March 4, 1930 at Bula, a daughter of the late Ralph Sanders and Aileen Louise McQuaid Sanders.
Mary Eleanor retired from the United States Postal Service.She was the Postmaster of the Wana post office for many years.She was a member of the Bula Baptist Church.Mary was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School class of 1947.
Surviving are one son and his spouse, Leslie D. and Rowena Moore of Eighty Four, PA; one daughter and her spouse, Nancy and Richard Walker of Daybrook; two brothers and spouses, George and Loretta Sanders of Bula and Thomas Sanders of Wadestown; four grandchildren, David, Heather, Mandi & Megan; six great-grandchildren, Faithlynn, Sydney, Micah, Jordan, Logan and Gavin.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Varner L. “Bud” Moore; one brother, James Sanders; and one sister, Nancy Miller.
The family would like to thank the oncology staff of Mon General Hospital, Dr. Azar, and the infusion team for the love that they gave to Mary during her time in the hospital.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 5-9 PM Friday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AMSaturday with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating.Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
