Mary Jane Woodruff, 89, of Wadestown, WV died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born January 16, 1921 at Wadestown, WV, a daughter of the late Harry Tennant and Bertha Liming Tennant.
Mrs. Woodruff attended local schools in the Wadestown area and worked at Westinghouse in Fairmont for many years.
On June 28, 1959 she married her husband, Steadman Encil Woodruff, who survives.
Mary, having had no children of her own is survived by several nieces and nephews, Jerry Yost, Gene D. Yost, Richard Tennant, Eilene Kucera, Gary Yost, Judy Ammons, Larry Yost, Janet Shriver, Mary Marlene Miller, Roger Yost, and also several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Haskell D. Tennant and one sister, Garnet Ogerette Yost, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mrs. Woodruff belonged to many origanizations in her younger life, some of which are, Wadestown Homemakers Club, Tops, Wadestown Fire Department, Lions Club, Share Helpers, Monongalia County Senior Advisory Board, Needle Club, Blacksville Family Service, Battelle District Fair Association, and the Monongalia County Farm Bureau.
Friends will be received at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 4-8 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennant Cemetery at Pentress.
