Maxine (Beck) Shriver, 84, of Range Road, Wadestown, departed this life on October 18, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born, Maxine Core, to the late Russell and Hazel Rice Core in Wadestown, on September 22, 1928.

Mrs. Shriver is survived by her husband, Jack Shriver, whom she married October 30, 1991, as well as her sons, Robert W. Myers, Jr. (Louise) of Wadestown and Bill Myers of Washington; five grandchildren, Mary ( David) Downey of Philippi, Alisha Myers (Adam Juzwick) of Arthurdale; Heather Myers, Haley Myers, and Holly Myers all of Washington; five great-grandchildren; four step-children, Jack Jr. (Mary Ellen) Shriver of PA, Cindy (Jim) Lyle of PA, Lynda Shriver of Morgantown and Rick (Lydia) Shriver of Morgantown; eight step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Norman (Marcia) Core of Wadestown, Jim (Janice) Core of Hundred, John (Mary Jo) Core of Wana, and Charles Core of Grafton; two sisters, Mary Stottlemyer of Ohio and Patricia Shrout Furey of PA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert W. Myers, Sr, her twin brother, Max Core, her oldest brother, Russell Core, oldest sister, Ruby Herr, and infant sister, Norma Core.

Mrs. Shriver was a member of the West Warren Baptist Church for 70 years and a homemaker. In the past, she was active in the community and spent time visiting with the elderly. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch, gardening and spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Maxine was a loving mother and "Granny" and was well known for her delicious homemade chicken noodles. Family and friends are truly blessed to have had her in their lives. Maxine will be missed, but definitely not forgotten. Fond memories are the gifts that everyone will hold dearly.

All services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will follow services in the Wadestown Cemetery.

The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements.
