Mazie Maine, 74, of Core, WV died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at her residence.
She was born December 18, 1932 at Pursglove, WV a daughter of the late William A. Davies and Gertrude H. Booth Davies.
Mazie was a retired cook for West Virginia University. She cooked at several different fraternity houses in Morgantown. She was a member of Parents Without Partners, TOPS of Morgantown, the Morgantown VFW Ladies Auxillary, and the Morgantown Moose Lodge #264. She was a protestant by faith.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Maine of Wana and Williard Maine of Youngstown, Ohio; three daughters, Donna Rebold of Core, Wilma Farrier of Jacobsburg, Ohio, and Regina Tennant of Core; two brothers, Frank Davis of Spraggs and Donald Davies of Morgantown; one sister, Phyllis Statler of Westover; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Maine; one son, William Maine, one granddaughter, Charlene Maine, and fourteen brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Tuesday with the Pastor Jerry Teter officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
