Melvin R. Eddy, 44, of Core, WV born on the 27th day of October 1960 was tragically taken from us on the 20th day of August, 2005 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Farmington, WV. He was the son of Norma Morris Eddy of Core, WV and the late Robert Eddy.
He married Mavis Chisler on August 31, 1979. In addition to his mother and his wife, he is survived by his daughter Mandy King and her husband Carl and their three children, Trinity, Troy, and Miranda King; his son Matthew Eddy and his wife Teresa and their son Isaac Robert Eddy; one brother, Howard Eddy and his wife Dee; one sister, Gay Dean and her husband, Randy; all of Core; and his adopted family, Victor, Perla, Hannah, and Hailey Carreon, all of Core.
Melvin worked for Chisler Brothers as a driller for 25 years, but his heart was in maintenance and working on his rentals. Farming was his hobby along with spending time with his family, ESPECIALLY his grand babies.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM Tuesday with the Pastor Edward Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Eddy Cemetery at Jakes Run. The casket will remain closed.
