Nancy “Jean” Tennant

April 4, 1953 – February 9, 2022

 

Nancy “Jean” Tennant, 68 of Mannington, WV died Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

 

Jean was born on April 4, 1953, at Fairmont, a daughter of the late Lawrence Dale Parker and Goldie Mae Parker of Mannington, WV.

 

Mrs. Tennant last worked at Shields Herb & Flower Farm in Spraggs, PA. She enjoyed gardening, reading, arts/crafts, spending time with her family and was a devoted Christian.

 

She gave in death as she gave in life; she was an organ and tissue donor. Jean’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

 

Surviving is her husband, Donald Merl Tennant; one son John King, Jr. and his spouse Julia King of Mannington, WV; one daughter April Tennant Horne and her fiancé Ryan Davis of Bruceton Mills, WV; one stepson, Brandy Tennant and his spouse Heather Tennant of Proctor, WV; one sister Debbie Parker of Johnson City, TN; three brothers, Rick Parker, Gary Parker, Benny Parker and his spouse Linda Parker all of Mannington, WV; 10 grandchildren: Brooke Tennant, Ashley Tennant, Devon Tennant, Dylan Tennant, Montana Scritchfield, Jonathan King, Sam King, Alexander Horne, Hayden Davis and Haylee Davis.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; Martha Joan Parker; one brother, Terry Parker; sister-in-law Brenda Parker; brother-in-law James Knisley and her mother and father-in-law, Leon Merl “PI” Tennant, and Nancy Louis Palmer Tennant.

 

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 6-8 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2022 with Pastor Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery at Mooresville, WV.
