Neva Mae Wharton, 67, of Shinnston, (Boothsville Community) died Friday, December 19, 2008 in Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born October 9, 1941 at Endicott, WV, a daughter of the late Darrell W. Kuhens and Gertrude McCullough Kuhens Teagarden.
Neva was a former employee of the United States Postal Service. She worked in the Littleton Post Office and as a rural mail carrier. She was a member of the Boothsville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, John R. Wharton; three sons, John R. Wharton, Jr of Littleton, Jason Wharton of Fairmont, and Andy Wharton of Brave, PA; three half-brothers, Brown Teagarden of Littleton, Jerry Teagarden of Hundred, and Lee Teagarden of Littleton; and two granddaughters, Jill Wharton and Sarah Wharton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie E. Smith and a half-sister, Margaret Jane Teagarden.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Tuesday. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Charlene Edwards officiating. At the request of the deceased her body will be cremated.
