Nova Lee Cecil, 75, of Wileyville, WV was carried by angels to be with her Savior on Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.
She was born March 5, 1930, to the late Francis Wells Postlethwait and Thelma Pearl Yoho Postlethwait Miller.
Nova Lee was an active member of the Wileyville Church of Christ for 63 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Donald R. (Donnie) Postlethwait, and a sister, Roberta Cain Barrett.
Surviving are her husband, Pemperton L. Cecil; one son Jerry and his wife Judy; one daughter, Arminta and her husband Jack, all of Wileyville; four siblings, Doris and her husband Clair Tywman of New Martinsville, Win (Benny) Postlethwait and his wife Barbara of Follansbee, Nila and her husband James Craig of Littlestown, PA, Barbara and her husband, Carlton Norris of Pine Grove. Three grandchildren, Serena and her husband Jeremy Huggins of Wileyville, Barbara and her husband, Roland Day of New Martinsville, and Kriss Cecil-Crihfield and his wife Courtney of Fairmont; five great-grandchildren, Mercedez Goff, Katlyn Huggins, Ashton Cecil, Jason and Bryan Day.
Nova Lee was a 1948 graduate of Magnolia High School. She taught ladies and children's bible classes at the Wileyville Church of Christ. She was a 4-H leader for many years, a West Virginia All Star, a 4-H Leaders Association Member, and was employed by the WVU Extension Service.
She was Community Action Program coordinator in the Wetzel County; Democrat Committee Woman, organized the first Head Start program in Wetzel County; correspondent for the Wetzel Republican/Democrat; and was PTA president at Hundred High for many years.
She, along with her husband, founded Cecil Kraft Shop in 1962. They represented WV at the Festival of American Folk life for three years in Washington, DC, one of the those being the bicentennial, and appeared with their crafts at the President's park by invitation.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Wednesday, and from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the Wileyville Church of Christ on Friday at 1:00PM with the Evangelist Charles Pugh and Evangelist Gene West officiating. Interment will follow in the Wileyville Cemetery.
