Paul S. Delaney, 89, of Burton, WV died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the Golden Living Center in Morgantown.
He was born January 27, 1923 at Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Larney Delaney and Arley Clovis Delaney Bissett.
Mr. Delaney was retired from the Home Hardware in Hundred where he served as the manager for many years. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II. Paul was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred where he served as the commander for many years.
Paul formerly attended the Rush Run United Methodist Church. Mr. Delaney graduated from Clay-Battelle High School in the first graduating class in 1940.
Surviving are four sons and their spouses, Joseph and Mary Beth Delaney of Clarksburg, Jeff and Susan Delaney of Little Hocking, Ohio; Lee and Shannon Delaney of Burton, and Mick and Susan Delaney of Fairmont; one brother, Leon Delaney of Weirton; three sisters, Jean Cummins of Washington, PA, Mary Ellen Bell of Florida, and Martha Prince of California; nine grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-8 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
