Pearl Marie Starkey, 97, of Knob Fork, WV, formerly of Mannington, went home to be with the Lord December 3, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, where she had resided for many years.

She was born June 9, 1914, the daughter of the late William S. Wells and Delphia Childers Wells.

Preceding her in death is her husband of 47 years, Ray E. Starkey, and five brothers, Glenn, Edgar, Ray, Ralph, and Harold Wells, and two sisters who died as infants, Garnet Jewel Wells and Irene Wells.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Hostuttler and son-in-law, R. Ray Hostuttler of Knob Fork; one grandson, Rob Hostuttler; and two great-grandsons, Logan and Jaxson Hostuttler; a nephew, Donnie Wells, whom she raised as her own for many years. Also surviving are two brothers, Paul Wells of Detroit and Donald Wells of Weirton; one sister, Audrey Powell of Colliers and many nieces and nephews.

In her later years she was cared for by Carol Lough, Joey and Brenda Cyphert, Edna Lemasters, and Sandy Greathouse, all of whom she considered her extended family.

She was a member of the Hundred Church of Christ. She was a kind and loving person with a ready smile and laughter. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Mannington Memorial Park.
