RAY P. STONEKING
Ray P. Stoneking, 85, of Hundred, WV died Friday, September 11, 2020 in the Monongalia General Hospital Emergency Department.
He was born February 6, 1935 at Seven Pines, near Mannington, a son of the late John Lee Stoneking and Nancy Bell McLaughlin Stoneking.
Ray was a retired coal miner having worked at the McElroy Mine. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Stoneking was Methodist by faith however he had been attending the First Century Church at Metz.
Surviving are his wife, H. E. “Liz” Palmer Stoneking; three sons, Roy Lee Harris Hawkins and his wife Jane of Hundred, Ray Pearl Stoneking II and his wife Darlene of Burton, and John Wayne Stoneking and his wife Chris of New Martinsville; one brother and his spouse, Joe Stoneking and his wife Vivian of Pine Grove; three sisters, Gladys Gardner of Bristol, VA, Patricia Wright of Cameron, and Margaret Matthis of Marietta, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren;twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Penny Hawkins.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carmen Jackson; one son, Jerry Hawkins; one grandson, Aaron Hawkins; one granddaughter, Amber Gorby; and two great-granddaughters, Harper Hawkins and Kylee Huston; six brothers, Wade Stoneking, George Stoneking, Harry Stoneking, Homer Stoneking, Carney Stoneking, and Jim Watson; and eight sisters, Doris Watson, Dolly Watson, Mildred Stoneking, Norma Lee Summers, Geneva Stoneking, Lavone “Lizzie” Cumberledge, Mary Ann Payne, and Molly Herrington.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 5-8 PM on Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with Pastor George Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Yost Cemetery.

We are so sorry to hear the passing of one of the nicest men we ever knew. Ray always greeted us with a big smile we really enjoyed talking with him at every chance. We will miss him dearly. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
