Ray Stottlemire, 85, of Hundred, WV died Saturday, April 28, 2007 in Fairmont General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Littleton, WV on September 14, 1921 he was the son of the late Isaac Stottlemire and Lillie Wright Stottlemire. Ray was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was a former airplane mechanic, pipeliner, and he retired as a rural mail carrier. He was a methodist by faith and a United States Army Air Force veteran who served during World War II. He was a former driver for the United Emergency Squad of Hundred and a former member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred.

Surviving are his wife, Viva Kennedy Stottlemire; two daughters and son-in-laws, Linda & Jerry Burdine and Cathy & John Tustin, all of Hundred; five grandchildren, Mary Geho, Lisa Burdine, Jeff Burdine, Mike Bragg and Danny Bragg; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Stottlemire, Lloyd Stottlemire, and Kenneth Stottlemire; and five sisters, Mabel Morris, Marie Fritz, Violet Linger, Mildred Unrue, and Leona Walters.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Pastor Tim Brower officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery at Burton, WV.
