Raymond W. Riggs, 77, Burton, WV died Thursday, February 16, 2006 in the Arbors at Fairmont Nursing Center.
Mr. Riggs was born May 14, 1928 at Deep Valley, PA a son of the late William Spencer Riggs and Gaythel Yoders Riggs.
Ray retired from American Standard Transformer in Warren, Ohio with 17 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of the VFW in Waynesburg, PA and the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred, and was a protestant by faith.
Surviving are his companion of 16 years, Betti-Ruth Weber; one son, Gerald Riggs of Jefferson City, TN; two brothers, Roy Riggs and Paul Riggs both of Vermilion, Ohio; one granddaughter, two step-grandsons; two great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, and two sisters, Hilda and Helen.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Friday and 7-9 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 PM Sunday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Windy Gap Cemetery at Aleppo, PA.
