Rev. Harold A. “Hap” Pruitt breathed his last breath on this earth and his first in heaven on Thursday, September 26th at Mon General Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side. He ran his race well.
He was born on January 8, 1950 in Valley Park, MO to Harold A. Pruitt, Sr. and Sybill Lavy Pruitt, both deceased.
Hap loved ministering hope and encouragement to the lost and hurting for the past 20 years. The last 9 ½ years he and his wife were privileged to pastor and serve the precious family at New Life Harvest Center in Pentress, WV. For 30 years he owned Pruitt Electric. He loved fishing and being with family, especially his kids and grandkids. His passion was people and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by the love of his life, Rev. LeeAnne Pruitt; their four children, Chris Rhodes and his son, Judah; Jimmy Rhodes and his fiancé Krysti Kelly, all of Morgantown; Amanda Rhodes and her three children, Ryleigh, Austin and Axxel McFann of Pentress, and Katie Rodriguez and her husband Alex of Austin Texas; and his in-loves, Lee and Inez Risner of Cape Fair, MO. He also leaves behind his sisters, Michael Gmelin of Oahu and Patrice Pruitt of Houston, Texas and many relatives and close family friends, too many to mention.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Johnson of Morgantown Surgical Associates and his staff, the staff of 5 South, Oncology and a many individuals at Mon General Hospital and the staff of Hospice Care Corp. for their care and compassion shown to Hap and his family.
Per Pastor Hap’s request, he will be cremated. The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV is in charge of arrangements.
There will be a celebration of his life service at Riverside Apostolic Church at 336 Dents Run Rd., Morgantown on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 5 pm.
