Richard Alan Sago, 57, of Core, WV died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at his residence.
He was born April 18, 1954 at Fairmont, WV a son of Anthony Sago, Jr. of Burton and the late Alberta Louise Arnett Sago.
Rick was a retired coal miner who worked at the Blacksville No. 2 mine. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America District #31 in Fairmont. He was a 1972 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School.
He was a member of Hope Church in Morgantown.
Surviving in addition to his father, is his wife, Karen Jackson Sago; one son, Sgt. Jeffrey Alan Sago serving with the United States Army in Afghanistan; one daughter, April Dawn Sago of Morgantown, two brothers, Anthony G. "Doc" Sago of Littleton and David Sago of Wadestown; his step-mother, Wilda Sago of Burton; three grandchildren, Jamie Simpson, Whitley Jackson, and Timberlyn Kramer; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amanda Marie Sago; and a step-daughter, Marti Jo Simpson.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Allen Dunham officiating.
Cremation will follow the services.
