Richard David “Dave” Butcher, 70, of Daybrook, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Daybrook.
He was born January 2, 1947 at Jakes Run, a son of the late Clark Butcher and Ada Tennant Butcher.
Mr. Butcher was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of both the United States Marines and United States Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Georgia Tennant Butcher; two sons, Jonathan Butcher of Carnegie, PA and Henry Butcher and his girlfriend, Shelby Kerns of Connellsville, PA; three daughters, Melissa Locklar and her husband Jon of Morgantown, Erin Butcher and her boyfriend Michael McBride of Daybrook and Christina Butcher and her fianc’e Ronald Lambert of Daybrook; a son-in-law, Michael Glover of Dilliner, PA; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Richard D. Butcher, II and Jesse Ray Butcher; and one brother who died as an infant, Clark Butcher.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Rev. Freddie Eddy officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennant Cemetery at Daybrook.
