Richard Eugene Malott, 75, of Core, WV died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his residence.
He was born July 29, 1939 at Daybrook, a son of the late Richard Cecil Malott and Bonalynn Clise Malott.
Mr. Malott was a retired custodian from Monongalia County Schools.
Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie Tennant Malott; one daughter, Christy Javosky of Daybrook; three step-sons, Lynn & Brenda Stewart of Florida, Terry & Cheryl Stewart of Kentucky, and Larry Stewart of Barboursville, WV; two sons, Tim Malott of Blacksville and Michael Malott of Fairmont; one brother, Roger Malott of Morgantown; one sister, Judy & Ronnie Price of Fairview; grandchildren, Skye & Gunner Javosky who made their home with pap; six-step-grandchildren; and five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a "Special Thanks" to hospice nurses, Jennifer, Chantel, Patricia, and Carrie for their care and compassion show to Richard and the family.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one step-son, Gene Stewart; one son, Rodney Malott; one grandson, Zachary Malott, and one brother, Reed Malott.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville from 5-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Wednesday with Pastor Jerry Teter officiating.
