Rita Mae Brummage, 77, of Core, WV died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in the Sundale Nursing Home.
She was born December 16, 1938 at Miracle Run, a daughter of the late James C. “Poker” Tuttle and Irene Bane Tuttle.
Mrs. Brummage was retired from the Monongalia County Board of Education as she had previously worked as a custodian and a cook. She was a member of the Miracle Run United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son and his fiancé, Timothy Brummage and fiancé Jackie Hamilton of Core; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Miller of Blacksville; one sister, Mona Joy “Gab” Copeland of Pentress; three grandchildren, Jamie Brummage, Brittany Brummage, and T. J. Brummage; and one great-grandchild, Sammie Brummage.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Brummage; one son, James K. Brummage, Jr.; two sisters, Rose Husk and Lydia “Fuzz” Wilkinson; and four brothers, Fred Tuttle, Jack Tuttle, Johnnie “Mouse” Tuttle, and James “Pod” Tuttle.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-9 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 PM Sunday with the Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
