Robert Edward Phillips, 55, of Garards Fort, PA passed away Friday, April 13, 2007 at his home following an extended battle with cancer.
He was born at home in Spraggs, October 29, 1951, a son of the late Ed and Marlene Kerr Phillips.
Bobby Ed was a avid fisherman, hunter and marksman, always ready for a hand of cards. A member of the Waynesburg Eagles #598 for 25 years, he will be remembered for his quick wit, mastery of "BS", and being a "jack of all trades". Building and driving derby cars was a pasttime that became a family event earning them the nickname, Psycho-Circus Derby Team.
Mr. Phillips had been employed with Zeni, McKinney, & Williams Shaft Dept., Fox Carpentry, Fox Bus Services, Dean's Water Service and Right Angle Construction.
Surviving Bob is his wife, Julia Tenney Phillips; six children and their families: Rob Phillips and Chris Walkas and sons, Aaron, Joey and Jacob, of Waynesburg; Michael and Mellissa Phillips and daughters, Michaela and Selena, of Waynesburg; Tommy Rutan of Waynesburg; Robert (Jr) and Cheri Phillips and daughter, Abigail of Spraggs; Amanda Ringer of Carmichaels; and Edward (Tater) and Melissa Phillips and daughters, Alexis and Kasidee, of Waynesburg; three step-children and their families, Misty Eddy and Harry Johnson and sons, Reven and Rayne, of Bentleyville; Jason and Tammy Eddy and children, Austin, Jason, Aaron and Tiffany of Morgantown; Justin and Hope Eddy and children, Tayleen and Trenton of Fredericktown; two brothers and their familes; Jim and Paulette Phillips of Spraggs and Richard and Anita Phillips and children, Timothy and Kimberly of Spraggs; one sister and her family, Debra and Donald TenEyck and son Travis of Morgantown; and twenty-three nieces and nephews.
Mr. Phillips was preceeded in death by his father, Ed Phillips, mother, Marlene Kerr Phillips and a nephew, Lance Cpl Steven Phillips.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 7-9 PM Sunday, and from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Pastor Edward Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
