Ronnie Moore, 78, of Daybrook, WV passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2008 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born April 14, 1929 at Daybrook, a son of the late William Clyde Moore and Drusie A. Moore.
Ronnie was a retired coal miner from Consol #8 Shop. He retired with 43 years of service.
He was the current president of the Clay-Battelle Lions Club, of which he had been a member for 25 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp. He attended the Truth Assembly Chapel of Wadestown. He was an avid high school football fan and in his early life he ran field trial dogs.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Rose Moore; one sister, Carolyn Sue Newhouse of Daybrook; two sons and spouses, Randy Moore and his wife Debbie of Daybrook and Russ Moore and his wife Lisa of Canonsburg, PA; five grandchildren, Kellie Moore, Reagan Moore-Boyd, Nikki Moore, Macy Moore, and Eric Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Bennett and Alexis Galiardi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Moore,Jr.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the Truth Assembly Church of Wadestown at 1:30 PM Sunday with the Pastor Tim Brower and Pastor David L. Marcum officiating. Interment will follow in the Daybrook Cemetery. His body will lie in repose for 1 hour prior to the church service.
There will be a Lions Club service in the funeral home at 8:00 PM Saturday.
