SANDRA LEE DERICO

Sandy Derico passed into the arms of Jesus on January 5, 2022 in the home of her daughter, Amy, and son-in-law, Allan Ashcraft.  Amy and Allan took care of Sandy providing hope and love during the last year of her life.  Sandy passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer.  Sandy was born in Warren, Ohio on December 1, 1958 to Leonard and Helen Derico.  Her mother, Helen, of Champion, Ohio survives her and Leonard, her father has been with Jesus since 2019.

She was creative and enjoyed sewing, crafts, antiques and decorating.  She especially enjoyed tent camping in the beautiful parks of West Virginia and was very fond of the dogs she raised over the years.  Sandy could tell stories of when she went camping or when she was a truck driver and just every day life that would keep you laughing.  Sandy dearly loved her family and was a friend who was always willing to help.  She provided in-home care for the elderly and loved them as her own.  Sandy will be missed by family and friends.

Surviving are two children, Amy (Allan) Ashcraft and Danny Ash.  She leaves three grandchildren, Lance Corporal Dakota Ash, Wyatt Ash, and Adaleigh Ashcraft.  She is also survived by her mother, Helen, her two brothers, Len (Nita) Derico and Joe (Olivia) Derico.

A celebration and committal service will be announced as arrangements are completed.

The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV will be assisting in the final preparations.

I am sure a "Host of Angels" were waiting to welcome her into that beautiful, peaceful land where there is no suffering. There is comfort in knowing that our "Loved Ones" are in a place where they are free of pain. When remembering my Niece, I will always have a smile on my face, as she was a beautiful person, both inside and out.
