Shirley Ann Jones, 77, of Wadestown passed away peacefully on December 5, 2020 at Monongalia General Hospital.  She was born January 23, 1943 daughter of the late Charles H. & Freda (Haught) Phillips.

 

She and John celebrated 55 years of marriage.   Shirley retired after teaching 30 years at Wadestown and Mason Dixon Elementary.  Shirley was a life time member of the Wadestown United Methodist Church and a past Noble Grand with over 50 years of service in the Golden Glow Rebekah Lodge.  Shirley supported the Battelle District Fair with her hard work organizing gates and the fairbook.

 

Shirley is survived by her husband, John W. Jones, and their four children:  Kevin Jones of Wadestown; Karen and Jim Decker of Fairmont; Kathy and Ronnie Keener of Pentress; Kristi and Kevin Chisler of Wadestown and her sister, Carol Phillips.  Shirley was a proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren:  Jonathan and Kayla Decker, Zackary, Alicia and Trenton Keener, and Tyler and Ashley Chisler.    She was especially proud of her large extended Jones and Phillips family. 

 

Mrs. Jones was preceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Freda Phillips, brother and sister in law, Dale and Patty Phillips, and granddaughter Kayla Decker. 

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 4-8 PM Thursday.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday with Rev. Rose Saunders officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
