Shirley Jean Eddy, 67, of Fairview (Jakes Run Community) died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a brief illness.
Mrs. Eddy was born December 26, 1940 at Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late Arthur White and Esta Gwynn White.
She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a secretary for the United States Department of the Treasury in Washington, DC. She was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School Class of 1959 and she graduated from West Virginia Business College in 1962. She was a member of the Jakes Run Assembly of God.
Surviving are her husband, Albert K. Eddy; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David (Randy) Eddy and his wife Jillian of Parkersburg and Richard K. Eddy of Jakes Run; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Price and her husband Rob of Midlothian, TX; four grandchildren, Jessica, Jenson, Jenna, and Jamison Price; two brothers, Virgil White of Morgantown and James White of Blacksville, numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Yerkovich and Julia White; and one brother, Ray White.
Friends may call at the Jakes Run Assembly of God from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11:00 AM Saturday with the Pastor Rob Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Eddy Cemetery on Jakes Run.
The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
