Stanley Carl “Bill” Walker, 90, of Hundred, formerly of Pentress and Fairmont died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence.
Bill was born March 7, 1925 at Jakes Run, a son of the late William Dale Walker and Roxie Eddy Walker.
Mr. Walker was a retired trackman for the Monongahela Railway Company for more than 40 years.He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.He had been a radio man during the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II.
He was a member of the VFW Post #629 of Fairmont and the Marine Corps League Monongalia County Detachment 342.
Bill was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Fairmont.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Swann Walker; one son and a daughter-in-law, Alan Walker and his wife Darlene of Hundred; two brothers, John Walker of Jakes Run and William Dale Walker, Jr. of Fairmont; two sisters, Bonnie Colosino of Louisiana and Mary Walker of Jakes Run; two granddaughters and their husbands, Alyssa Henderson and her husband Bill and Diedra Huggins and her husband Nathan, all of Hundred; four great-grandchildren, Cole Henderson, Casey Henderson, Roxie Huggins, and Jaxon Huggins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, James Walker.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with the Pastor Jason Morgan officiating.Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
