VIOLET R. PIDO
Violet Rae Hixenbaugh Ammons Pido, 95, of Blacksville, WV died Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown.
She was born February 9, 1923 at Daybrook, a daughter of the late Arthur R. Hixenbaugh and Laura Catherine Keck Hixenbaugh.
Mrs. Pido was a retired housekeeper for the former WVU Hospital. Mrs. Pido was in the first class that graduated from Clay-Battelle High School.
She was a member of the Daybrook Church of Christ.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Jesse & Helen Ammons of Waynesburg, PA, Bob & Connie Ammons of Core, and Isaac & Penny Ammons of Daybrook; two daughters and their spouses, Laura Rose Travis and husband Harold of The Villages, Florida and Barbara Guest and husband Bob of Garard, PA; fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Isaac Jesse Ammons; second husband, Joseph Pido; one sister, Verena Henderson; and two brothers, Verl Hixenbaugh and Arthur Hixenbaugh.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, from 6-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with Evangelist Mike Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Daybrook Cemetery.
