W. Elvy Gorby, 95, of Littleton, WV died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at his residence. He was born March 10, 1910 at Littleton, a son of the late Willie Gorby and Lona Woods Gorby.
Mr. Gorby was a farmer most of his life. He retired from the Wetzel County Board of Education with 32 years of service as a school bus driver. He attended the Mt. Herman United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Robert Gorby of New Martinsville; three daughters, Kathryn S. Milliken of Knob Fork, Patsy Moore of Leesburg, FL, and Joan Petitte of Morgantown; two brothers, Ernie Gorby of Littleton and Delphie Gorby of Alliance, Ohio; one sister, Atha Riter of Weirton; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet Gorby, who died on April 4, 2005; a brother, Edgar Gorby and a sister, Thursey Ballard.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Herman Cemetery..
