William H. Tennant, 73 of Blacksville, WV passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 19, 2018.
He was born December 26, 1944 at Miracle Run, a son of the late Wilda H. Tennant and C. Pauline Kinty Tennant.
Mr. Tennant was a retired coal miner who worked at the Eastern Associated Coal Company Federal No. 2 mine on Miracle Run.
He loved to fish, hunt, work on his farm, golf, and spend time on his side-by-side visiting friends and neighbors.He was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Arietta Statler Tennant; two daughters and their spouses, Tammy & Vernon “Skeeter” Varner of Miracle Run and Tiffany & James Durst of Blacksville; two grandchildren, Ceaira Varner & fiance’ Derrick Cole and Brody Dylan Varner; numerous nieces and nephews including Kim Sullivan, Beth Jones, and Todd Foley.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Jane Church.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 2-9 PM Sunday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with Pastor Steve Edwards officiating.Interment will follow in the Core Cemetery at Bula.
