William R. Brown passed away at his home in Waterford, Michigan on June 4th, 2015.
He was born on October 28, 1927 in Fairview, WV. He was the son of Edward Brown and Joy Swiger Brown Knisely and John Knisely of Fairview.
He served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked at the Federal No. 1 mine in Grant Town before moving to Michigan in 1953 and worked as an electrician for General Motors until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife Lillian and one daughter Lori Brown; and stepchildren, Carol, Connie, Jeremy, and Jeff all of Michigan; one brother James Knisely and his wife Carolyn of Mannington; two sisters, Janet Summers and her husband Marvin of Fairview and June Bauer of Allison Park, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva; one brother, Johnny M. Knisely; one sister, Harriet Rose Brown; and brother-in-laws, James Williams and Carl Bauer.
He never forgot his roots in West Virginia and often asked about his many friends.
In keeping with his wishes Mr. Brown will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on June 18, 2015 at Elton Black & Sons Funeral Home in Highland Michigan.
A military service will be held at the graveside and burial will follow in Great Lakes Veterans Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, West Virginia is in charge of local arrangements.
