WILLIAM ROBERT TENNANT

            William Robert Tennant, 91, of Jakes Run, died August 4, 2018 at his residence.

            He was born September 16, 1926 at Mooresville, a son of the late Nimrod Judge Tennant and Sylvia McCoy Tennant.

            Mr. Tennant was a retired pumper for Pennzoil.  He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Mooresville Church of Christ.

            He attended Blacksville High School and graduated from Clay-Battelle High School.

            Surviving are his children, Patty Eddy and husband Randy of Statler Run, Jill Tennant of Mooresville, and Mark Tennant and wife Kathy of Daybrook;  six grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn Eddy & Robin, Holly Hess & Joe, Hailey Snyder, Chloe Smith, Robby Tennant & Danielle, and Zach Tennant; and eight great-grandchildren.

            In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruby Yost Tennant who died on August 25, 2011; two brothers, Richard Tennant and Willis Walker; and four sisters, Helen Tennant, Marionetta Tennant, Margaret Smith, and Marjorie Eddy.

            The family would like to give a special thanks to Marian Lawson and Pam Carter who were Mr. Tennant’s homecare aides, the Johnson family who were always thinking of dad, and the nurses from Amedysis Hospice, C. J., Shantale, Maureen, and Sara. 

            Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-9 PM Tuesday.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
