Joan Mercer, 79, of Pennsboro, WV died Monday, August 27, 2012 at her residence.

She was born November 1, 1932 at Hundred, a daughter of the late Paul Cooke and Marjorie Hennen Cooke.

Mrs. Mercer formerly worked as a seamstress in a clothing factory. She was a methodist by faith.

Joan was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School.

Linda K. Koontz, 57, of Littleton, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in the Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville.

She was born December 11, 1954 at Silver Hill, a daughter of Ruth Lucetta Wade Tedrow Ebert of Littleton, and the late William J. Tedrow.

Mrs. Koontz was a homemaker and a protestant by faith.

Paul S. Delaney, 89, of Burton, WV died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the Golden Living Center in Morgantown.

He was born January 27, 1923 at Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Larney Delaney and Arley Clovis Delaney Bissett.

Steadman Encil Woodruff, 84, a resident of the Tygart Center in Fairmont, formerly of the Crossroads Community near Wadestown, died Friday, July 27, 2012 in the Tygart Center.

He was born April 6, 1928 at Hundred, WV, a son of the late John C. Woodruff and Olive Pearl Garner Woodruff.

Frances Cowne Finnin, age 102, of Hundred, WV died Monday, July 23, 2012. She was born in Midland, Virginia March 16, 1910, the eldest child of Effie (Boteler) and Cameron Cowne. Her parents, brothers Augustine, Cameron, Jr., and John Boteler Cowne, a daughter Frances Anne Deputy, and husbands John William Deputy and Gerald Finnin preceeded her in death.

Asa W. Mercer, Jr.,79, of Pennsboro, WV died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at his residence.

He was born January 6, 1933 at Fairview, WV, a son of the late Asa W. Mercer and Ruby L. Tennant Mercer.

Mr. Mercer was a retired filler operator in the dairy industry while living in New Jersey and he was a methodist by faith.

Richard Leroy Deems, 68, of New Freeport, PA formerly of Burgettstown, died Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was born March 21, 1944 at Mercer County, PA, a son of the late George L. Deems and Edna V. Grimm Deems.

Mr. Deems was a retired truck driver.

Charles W. "Charlie" Garner, 92, of Burton, WV died Friday, July 6, 2012 in the Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale.

He was born June 29, 1920 at Washington, DC, a son of the late Charles T. Garner and Alice E. Hurdle Garner.

Charlie was a retired asbestos worker and was a member of the Asbestos Workers Local #24 of Washington, DC.

Terry Lee Anderson, 50, of Brave, PA died June 29, 2012 at his residence.

He was born January 9, 1962 in Waynesburg, PA, a son of Ralph H. and Kay Montgomery Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a pipeliner and a member of local 1050 for 25 years.

He was an avid sports fan and loved watching Nascar, golf, football, baseball and more.

Bobby E. Michael, 77, of Wadestown died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in the New Martinsville Health Care Center in New Martinsville, WV.

He was born July 24, 1934 at Fairview, WV, a son of the late Willie E. Michael and Thelma Tennant Michael.
