John David Baird, of Wadestown, WV died July 14, 2006. It was his 78th birthday.

Well known around Monongalia County for his expertise in the construction and renovation of log homes, John's talents were many and varied.

At age 17 he served in the United States Army of Occupation and was stationed in Austria.

Ricki attended Fairmont Senior High School and graduated high school in Wheeling, WV. She enjoyed writing poetry since she was in her teens.

Martin Matthews, 64, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 of injuries sustained from being struck by an automobile while riding his bicycle near the Po Boy Restaurant.

He was born July 20, 1941 at Garrison, PA, a son of the late Grant Matthews and Goldie F. Grim Matthews.

Martin formerly attended the Littleton Church of God prior to moving to New Martinsville.
